Who is responsible for your data
BT Translation (Miss Beatrice Tinca LLB ACIL), operating from Kent, UK, is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can get in touch at hello@bt-translation.com.
What is collected
When you submit the enquiry form, the following is collected: your name, email address, company name if given, the translation direction, document type, requirement, and the content of your message. Any document details you choose to include in your message are collected with it.
If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects information about how the site is used, such as pages viewed and approximate location. This is not used to identify you personally, and nothing is loaded unless you accept.
Why it is used
Enquiry details are used solely to respond to your enquiry, provide a quote and, if you go ahead, to carry out the translation work. The lawful basis is legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry you have initiated, and performance of a contract where work proceeds.
Who it is shared with
Form submissions are processed by Netlify, which hosts this website, and are delivered to an email account provided by Google Workspace. Analytics data, where you have consented, is processed by Google. Your information is not sold, and is not shared with anyone else except where required by law.
How long it is kept
Enquiry correspondence is retained for as long as necessary to deal with your enquiry and to meet professional and legal record-keeping obligations, after which it is deleted.
Confidentiality
Documents supplied for translation, and their contents, are treated as confidential and are used only for the purpose of producing your translation.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to request access to your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to request erasure, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, contact hello@bt-translation.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies unless you accept analytics cookies. If you accept and later change your mind, clear this site's data in your browser settings and the choice will be requested again.
This notice describes how the website handles personal data. Please review it against your own practices and update it if anything changes.
